Having a check returned due to insufficient funds can be a costly and humiliating experience. That’s why we provide “Carefree Checking”; a special overdraft privilege for Community Bank & Trust checking customers.
Carefree Checking gives you an extra level of protection against unanticipated cash flow emergencies and account reconciliation errors.
At Community Bank & Trust, we do not encourage overdrafts. As always, we encourage you to manage your finances responsibly. The purpose of this privilege is to save you from the embarrassment, additional merchant fees or other problems that might result if a check is returned.
Also available for overdraft protection is the personal line of credit which could be tied to a checking account. Interest is charged on advances to personal lines of credit, and also for your convenience we offer overdraft protection tied to a regular savings account.
Community Bank & Trust generally will honor overdrafts up to the Carefree Checking limit on your account.
There is no cost associated with this privilege unless you use it. You should keep in mind, however, that you will be charged the standard NSF fee for each item paid under the limit.
